Made To Order Goods

What happens after I have placed my order?

After placing your order with a minimum 30% deposit we will be sending your order off to our supplier. Throughout the process, we will keep you updated of your order. Typically, no news is good news - in other words, we will promptly update you of any changes should they prop up (i.e. fabric delays or supplier ETA changes). When the manufacturing of your order has been completed, we will then send you an invoice requesting final payment of the remaining balance. Once your invoice has been fully paid, our preferred carrier will be in touch within 72 hours.

Lead Times

Lead times and ETA are approximating only and are used as a guide. The ETA is generally dependent on leather or fabric availability and is often determined by circumstances outside of the control of Sofa & Soul or its suppliers. A firm completion date may be provided closer to the goods being ready.

Can I bring in a fabric I have already chosen to upholster my furniture in?

Absolutely! We source most of our fabrics from Warwick, Zepel, Charles Parsons, James Dunlop & Wortley. Any fabrics from those houses we don't have that are currently available on the market, we can organize for your order.

Do you have seat cushion insert options?

For all Molmic Sofas there are alternative seat cushions that can cater to your needs.

FEATHER INSERTS - Molmic Feather Blend, Molmic Feather Top, Molmic Feather Comfort Wrap.

FOAM INSERTS - Molmic Comfort Support, Molmic Soft Top, Molmic Luxura (upgrade).

The options available depend on the sofa's design. Your S&S Sales Consultant will let you know of these. This information is readily available from our downloadable specification sheets on each product page.

Shipping & Deliveries

When will my item be delivered?

At the time of placing your order, your sales consultant will advise you of the necessary delivery steps. Going by the current manufacturing lead time, a required-by-date will be agreed upon with you that best suits you. This will give us an idea of date for delivery of your goods.

Once your invoice has been fully paid, our preferred carrier will be in touch within 72 hours to arrange a suitable delivery date & time with you. Our preferred carrier will be making deliveries every Wednesday & Friday. Please allow 5-9 working days after the final balance has been paid. If you require a specific working day date within the month of your final invoice payment date, please let our team know ahead of time and we will work with our carrier to best accommodate this for you.

Can items be delivered on weekends?

Unfortunately, no.

Weekends cannot be accommodated unless special consideration applies and is made with Sofa & Soul's management.

I need to change my delivery date, is this possible?

Yes absolutely! We only ask that enough notice is given to our team for our preferred carrier to accommodate the change.

If you don't require your items for a good while after they have been completed at the manufacturer, we're able to store your goods at our warehouse until you ready to take delivery. Our storage fee is $200 AUD incl. GST, per every 4 weeks.

Returns, Refunds, Alternations & Cancellations

Delivery Site Access

In regard to furniture access - confirmation of order is with the understanding that you have measured your accessibility for delivery purpose. Please ensure you have advised S&S at the time of placing your order if there are any stairs or lifts as this usually incurs an additional fee for time and labor.

If I was wished to alter, return or cancel my made-to-order?

Sofa & Soul offers a 3 day cooling off period. The client is required to notify Sofa & Soul in writing, within 3 days of placing the order if they wish to cancel, after this time, the client chooses to forfeit their deposit amount, or at least 25% of their total order. Client alterations to orders also require notification to Sofa & Soul in writing. After the cooling off period the client may incur a cancellation or alteration fee. Refunds on any deposits paid may take approximately two weeks to process.

Can in-stock items be refunded if I change my mind?

Unfortunately, we do not typically accept returns on clearance or items bought off the showroom floor. We are more than willing to assist you by providing recommendations in finding a suitable solution if need be.

Do you offer Afterpay?

Unfortunately, no - however we are looking at bringing Zip Pay on board at Sofa & Soul soon.

Molmic Warranty

Sofa & Soul provides a 10 Year structural supplier warranty on the range of lounge, dining and recliner furniture (from the date of order by the original purchaser). The product warranty, however, excludes damage caused by accident, misuse or neglect and does not extend to the upholstery (leather and fabrics), or normal wear and tear. The warranty applies only to the original client and is not transferable. If a claim needs to be made, delivery to and from Sofa & Soul or the manufacturer is the responsibility of the purchaser, unless otherwise authorized by Sofa & Soul in writing.

Frame construction and component for residential application – 10 Year Structural Warranty This excludes timber plinth and legs if damaged during transit, dragged or dropped.

Sewing and upholstery – 12 Month Workmanship Warranty

High foam content seat cushion – 10 Year Warranty Applies to Molmic Comfort Support, Molmic Soft Top and Molmic Luxura.

High feather and fibre blend seat cushions – 5 Year Warranty Applies to Molmic Feather Blend, Molmic Feather Top and Molmic Feather Comfort Wrap.

Please refer to the Molmic cushion care page as lack of maintenance is not covered under warranty.

IMG of Norway

Frame - 10 year(s) warranty Steel structural frame elements are warranted against breakage for a period of ten (10) years. Wood sofa frames and steel insert frames are also warranted against breakage for a period of ten (10) years.It does not cover damage to the frame, or any faults or damage caused by the use of the product other than in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations, as well as any faults or damage arising from any repairs made by any persons not authorized by the manufacturer.

Moulded foam - 10 year(s) warranty Moulded cushions are warranted against collapsing for a period of ten (10) years.Loss of foam resiliency should not be confused with softening of foam or stretched cover, which are results from normal use. Owners of upholstered furniture should also expect foam and fibre fillings to compact over time.

Mechanism – 5 year(s) warranty Recliner mechanisms including steel springs are warranted against breakage for a period of five (5) years.Please note that this does not cover any type of minor sound or noise in the mechanism or unevenness in swivel mechanisms. This is normal and the result of general use.It does not cover damage to the mechanism, or any faults or damage caused by the use of the product other than in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations, as well as any faults or damage arising from any repairs made by any persons not authorized by the manufacturer.

Laminated wood – 5 year(s) warranty Laminated Scandinavian recliner parts (for Nordic and Classic chairs) are warranted against breakage for a period of five (5) years.Please note that this does not cover any form for minor sound or noise in the laminated wood or unevenness caused by temperature or moisture. This is normal for all living materials.It does not cover damage to the woodwork, or any faults or damage caused by the use of the product other than in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations, as well as any faults or damage arising from any repairs made by any persons not authorized by the manufacturer.

Power – 2 year(s) warranty Warranty period for defects of new motors and related parts are two (2) years.Excluded from the warranty are non-material defects or deviations in the properties and condition of the product, which are negligible for the value and intended use of the equipment. Replacement of spent batteries / rechargeable batteries is also not covered by this warranty.It does not cover damage caused by the use of the product other than in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations, as well as any faults or damage arising from any repairs made by any persons not authorized by the manufacturer.

Leather and Fabric – 2 year(s) warranty IMG leather products are warranted against tearing and cracking for a period of two (2) years. IMG fabric products are warranted for a period of two (2) years against seam slippage, fraying.This fabric warranty does not cover tears, flattening of nap, pilling, fading, or shrinking and is not valid when heavy soiling or abuse is evident.The warranty does not cover normal fading, damage due to improper use of chemical treatments that are not endorsed by IMG, damage from lack of required caution or regular care and maintenance.The guarantee does not apply where the product has been exposed to excessive temperature change or exposed directly to airconditioning/radiators.guarantee does not apply to damage caused by dye-transfer from non-colourfast materials, including fabrics, plastics and clothing.The warranty does not include claims for veins, wrinkling, natural markings from healed scars or variations in grain or colour. These natural features are proof that only genuine leather has been used. The warranty does not include stretching of leather or fabric. This is normal Warranty Policy and results from normal use.Exposure of leather and fabric to sunlight or extreme light sources will cause fading and damage and is not covered by the warranty.It does not cover damage to the leather and/or, or any faults or damage caused by the use of the product other than in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations, as well as any faults or damage arising from any repairs made by any persons not authorized by the manufacturer.

Workmanship & other materials and components – 2 year(s) warranty All other materials, parts, components, and other furniture products not specifically included in the above warranties and workmanship are warranted against defects for two (2) years.

All IMG furniture is designed to suit a maximum user weight of 120kgs and any weight in excess will invalid this warranty.

Will I receive information on the best care for my Molmic Sofa?

Yes, you'll find a Care & Warranty Pack with your Molmic Sofa after delivery. Typically, they are found tucked between your seat cushions for secure portability in your sofa as it travels to your home. Alternatively, we provide information on the care and warranty in the below questions. How do I plump my feather fiber seat cushions?

All feather and fiber cushions need maintenance. Check out Molmic's tutorial how-to video and/or see their cushion care page.

Fabric Protection - Guardsman

At Sofa & Soul we offer Fabric Protection Care Kits for you to take home with your new soul sofa! These kits also include a 5-year warranty that covers all accidental stains & accidental damages to your goods.

Products included in the Fabric Protection Care Kit:

Fabric Protector. Shield fabric upholstery against many damaging soils, spills, and stains. Spray 25 -30cm from fabric using slow, back and forth motion, overlap if need but do not saturate (light coats are more effective than one heavy coat). Dries in 2-4 hours, we recommend doing this at night before bed. Reapply annually or after every cleaning to maintain protection.

Fabric Cleaner - Level 1. Designed for helping remove everyday stains and spills. Apply onto the clean cloth provided in your kit and gently blot over the stain repeatedly until it disappears -do not rub. If it does not budge, use your Level 2 fabric cleaner. To help prevent ring formation on the fabric, dry the area with a hair dryer on a cool setting.

Fabric Cleaner - Level 2. Designed to deep clean in removing stubborn stains and spills. Following the same instructions per the Level 1 Cleaner. Once the stain is removed, blot with your level 1 cleaner. To help prevent ring formation on the fabric, dry the area with a hair dryer on a cool setting.

How do I purchase a Guardsman Fabric Protection Kit?

We encourage that these are purchased with your furniture piece by the time of final payment - ring us on 03 9427 8555, email (sales@sofasoul.com.au) or text our team online to include it in your purchase. This makes sure your kit is on the final invoice, of which it is now covered within the 5-year warranty. Please keep a copy of this invoice in order to validate your warranty upon using it.

Unfortunately, if you were to purchase this kit after your Sofa has been delivered, as the warranty does not cover it - with this being said, of course you are welcome to purchase a kit on its own. The cleaning products alone provide exceptional back-up and peace of mind regardless of if something were to happen to your goods.

How to Clean your Upholstery Furniture Pieces

Can you get a professional dry clean for your sofa?

Yes! and we routinely use Triple A Cleaning Services for our showroom floor stock sofas.

As well as being fantastic when you need a rescue from tougher stains. Our Team will always recommend a professional clean bi-annually for your sofa/lounge suite. Especially for pieces in high traffic areas of the home.

Do you have fabrics with applied protectants?

We source most of our fabrics from Warwick, Zepel, Charles Parsons, James Dunlop & Wortley. When you come into store, our sales team will take you and consult through your ideal fabrics with you. Check out our online fabric library here (keep in mind our online fabric library is smaller than our complete fabric library which remains to be in-store only).

We also feature fabrics in our range specifically for those needing stain-resistant, easy to clean and longer-lasting upholstery.
